In
Eastern philosopies, the purpose of meditation is to reach nirvana
(the original Hindu term for god-consciouness, later appropriated
by buddhism). Only the greatest teachers have been able to reach
this state. Through meditation you can alter the way your own existence
is experienced. Although semantics and conceptualisations used in
different schools and traditions of meditation may vary, the aim
remains the same, to lead the body and mind to the highest state
of sensitivity and understanding of which a person is capable. |
